Bio : Lisa Gerber
Lisa escaped the city life in 2001 and found the dream life she had envisioned from her Seattle office cubicle. Here in Sandpoint, in the lakes and mountains region of Idaho, she has been telling the story of organizations small to large since 2004.
Lisa has been called upon to create and execute marketing and communications strategies. While she specializes in the outdoor, hospitality, food and beverage, and real estate industries, she loves to venture out of those categories. After all, no business problem remains unsolved and sometimes the best solutions are found outside your industry.
In 3 years, Lisa has been responsible for close to ½ million dollars of media exposure to Sandpoint on a $60,000 investment. She has named and branded downtown Seattle buildings, produced an outdoor concert series to animate the common area of a downtown property, managed the media needs for a national mountain bike championship, and hosted the Idaho governor at a client's property. The term Return on Investment has evolved to Return on Engagement. It is not always easy to quantify with precise dollar figures, but rather through the interaction of you with your clients.
She has placed clients in media such as New York Times, AOL Travel, National Geographic Adventure, and Sunset Magazine to name a few. She connects people and organizations for mutually beneficial endeavors.
Her gratitude for living in a beautiful community motivates her desire to participate, to make the community a better one. She is currently the vice president of the International Selkirk Loop where she works to bring economic development to the rural communities in Northern Idaho. She is a past board member of the Downtown Sandpoint Business Association and the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce.
Previously she managed all marketing and public relations functions at Schweitzer Mountain Resort after moving to Idaho in 2001 from Seattle. In Seattle, she was the marketing manager for Harbor Properties, Inc and was responsible for creating a brand and vision for several mixed-use developments in downtown Seattle, and seeing that vision to execution and lease-up.
Personal
Lisa speaks French fluently and travels to France as often as possible. She lives on a mountain outside of Sandpoint, Idaho with her husband and two dogs. She telemark skis, mountain bikes and practices yoga; all so she can indulge in her passion of fine food and wines.
Life is about loving what you do. A love of life, people and the things one does, attract success. Work never ends and ideas are happening be it at the latest conference, while out on a trail run, or while meeting new people at a reception. At Big Leap Creative, it is an endless curiosity, voracious reading habit, and social network that brings results for our clients.
